Instagram is evolving before our very eyes. Remember the days when Instagram was all about checking out your friends latest creative pics? Those days are gone for me. My feed is now full of designers, food porn, fashion, charities, musicians, actors, homewares and a bunch of celebrities.

From Mariah Carey to Miranda Kerr’s mum to the cafe around the corner, I follow 465 instagrammers.

Weekly Lovers List {21JAN14}

Believe it or not ……. my lovely finds this week won’t have you reaching for the credit card. No shopping involved! It’s all about self improvement instead.

1. This is a quirky blog I stumbled across during the week. The Still blog is a place where you can stop. Look at one thing at a time. Be still. {Great place to practice your breathing too}.

2. TheLoverList loves a challenge …. especially a photo challenge. I’m currently taking part in 100HappyDays on Instagram (follow me here}. The aim is to take a photo each day, for 100 days, of something that makes you happy. Sounds too easy, right? Wrong! 71% of participants fail the challenge because they are too busy. {Too busy to be happy?}. Anyone can join in. Just register, select a start date and come join me!

3. Creativity gets my blood pumping! I offered to help a friend create her Facebook cover photo and logo this week. What do you think? I love love love the popping colour combination.Go check out Food, Health & Fashion.

4. I read an interesting article last week titled This Man Is Dating Someone Even Though He’s Married. It sounds horrid but it resonated with me ….. and I may or may not have sent the article link to my husband!

Warehouse wonderland

Yet another home to drool over.

Located in Hawthorn East Melbourne, this warehouse belongs to fashion designer Lynda Newton and her hubby. It’s an old blind factory converted into a contemporary three bedroom home.

When the warehouse was being stripped, useable materials were salvaged and re-used.

   

The natural light through these cathedral windows are blinding.

Bye Bye Winter … It’s been lovely seeing you!

Farewell winter. It’s been a real pleasure having you stay with us this year. For the most part, you’ve been unseasonably warm and easy to deal with. Only a few rainy moments to keep us indoors….. but that’s when movies and hot chocolate join us. I’ll miss the movie sessions with you, putting on multiple layers  each morning, the dark bitter cold mornings and the belly warming pumpkin soup for lunch.

Goodbye Gum Boots.

Au revoir umbrella.

Zai jian winter coat.

Arrivederci flannelette sheets and doona.

Auf Wiedersehen winter tights.

Adios heater.

Hejdå hot chocolate.

See you again next year.
